From the get go, Matt doesn’t put you into any kind of bucket- he just learns about your goals and helps you understand what it’s going take to get there. Throughout the sometimes arduous journey of being an endurance athlete, he’s an active voice of support through the ups and especially the downs. One of the core philosophies he’s instilled in me is the simple value of consistency. When things aren’t there, he understands and adapts your training so you can still execute critical sessions and achieve the objective of the block you’re in. He loves digging into details and provides so much guidance for living life off the bike as a cyclist, just as much on the bike. The relationship side of coaching is so important and Matt has that part dialed in.
I’m lucky I come from a background of competitive D1 running, but Matt has helped push my body to limits I didn’t know I had.
